Nant Dowlais Health Centre was formed on 1 July 2020 serving patients in the West of Cwmbran.  We have an extensive clinical team comprising GPs, Mental Health Advanced Nurse Practitioner and a team of Advanced Clinical Practitioners and Nurse Practitioner, all of whom have advanced practice qualifications to assess, diagnose and treat patients, including prescribing medication if warranted.  Also in our clinical team is a Practice Pharmacist, Practice Nurses and Health Care Assistants.  We have adopted a Prudent Healthcare approach which means that our trained Call Handlers and Reception staff can direct you to the most appropriate person depending on your needs.  In many cases, this is not a GP but another member of our clinical team or the wider Primary Care community such the pharmacist, dentist, optometrist, physiotherapist and others.

As a new practice we are working hard to develop our services to meet the needs of our patients. We invest heavily in training and development of all members of our team and strive towards being the benchmark practice for our area. Our patients interests are at the heart of our plans to develop the practice and we welcome any suggestions or constructive criticism that may help us improve further. To register - please attend the practice to collect a registration form, which is available from reception. When returning the form, please ensure that you bring photographic identification in order for us to process the registration.
